Skip the weather app – today, paint your own emotional forecast. Are you cloudy blue, fiery orange, or calm mint green?
Ever wondered what your emotions look like in color? Today, skip checking the weather app and paint your own emotional forecast instead.
Here’s how:
Pause & Feel. Close your eyes for a moment and notice how you feel right now. Calm, excited, stormy, heavy, light?
Assign a Color. Choose a color that matches your feeling. Are you cloudy grey, peaceful mint green, fiery orange, or sunny yellow?
Choose a Shape or Texture. Think about how your emotion would move or feel if it were visible. Would it swirl softly, streak boldly, dot lightly, or drip heavily?
Paint Your Mood Weather Report. On a small piece of watercolor paper or in your sketchbook, paint your emotional color and shape. Keep it abstract and intuitive – this isn’t about perfection, just expression.
Reflect. Take a moment to observe your painting. Does it match your feeling? Has the process shifted your mood slightly?
✨ Bonus Practice: Try creating one mood weather report every day for a week. By the end, you’ll have a beautiful and personal emotional journal in color, shapes, and textures.

This image is for example only! The point of this exercise if to find out what colors match your moods.
